Mini-history: Mario is a guest artist on two CD's in duet with Andrea Bocelli: The very popular "Sin Tu Amor" ,which he composed, on "Andrea" (2004) and vocals and flamenco guitar in "Jurame" on "Amore." Since then he has preferred to continue alone in music but also appears in concerts with his group The Gipsy All Stars and the group The Gipsy Kings Family. |
βFor me life without music is not worth the struggle to be lived
because in the good times there is the music, in the tears music
is the solace. I could say that I keenly feel I need music
because for me music is a way I express myself. You can find the
proof of this in my next CD which I hope will soon be finished.β - Mario |
Mini-bio:
Born and raised in La Camargue in the south of France, Mario Reyes learned to play the exciting Gypsy rumba flamenco music from a very early age from his father and his famous family, The Gipsy Kings. He mirrored his father, and plays guitar left-handed even though he is right-handed! At the insistence of his family, he studied classical guitar at the academy, where he received the first prize at the age of 11. Since childhood, Mario has developed virtuosity on the guitar and performs concerts throughout the world and recorded many CD's with various family groups (Gitano Boys, Los Reyes, Gitano Family, The Gipsy Kings Family). He has gone out on his own and has appeared in Several CDs and concerts featuring artists like Andrea Bocelli (Mario performs his song "Sin Tu Amor" in a duet with Andrea and plays acoustic guitar on the album, "Andrea" and "Jurame 'on the album" Amore "with vocals and flamenco guitar.) He has a single CD, "Turquoise" Dreams ", for which he composed all the songs. Mario now appears alone or with his group, The Gipsy All-Stars. Mario makes his home in Montpellier, France, near Arles , where he was born. He lives with his wife Isabelle and their three children, who sometimes join their papa, his daughters dancing Gypsy rumba and his son, 4 years of age, playing his little guitar: a wonderful family party to see and hear full of the heart of the gypsy music and magic called 'duende.' |
